What Does Pain In The Upper Abdomen Indicate?

I had pain in my right upper abdomen starting Thursday and ending on Sunday, it was tender to the touch and swollen. After the pain went away Sunday I got clammy, dizzy and felt like I had muffled hearing. I got up to go to the bathroom and I blacked out. What can this be?

Hello,

It can be a acute gastritis, however we have to rule out cardiac causes as cardiac pain as in angina can present with pain over the upper abdomen and get in noticed. As of now consult a GP and get an ECG done to rule out angina and other cardiac causes for pain. You can take antacids like Pantoprazole or Omeprazole for gastritis. If pain persist better to take an ultrasound scan and endoscopy.

Hope I have answered your query.
