Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query about your daughter and here is my advice.
Since CT scan of abdomen, blood and urine reports are normal but your daughter still has pain on the right side of abdomen the most probable causes that are ruled out are related to
gallbladder like stone or infection, liver pathology and so on.
Hence the most probable cause I can think about are as follows:
She may have
costochondritis that is inflammation of the lower ribs and muscles. These cause lots of pains and may be related to
post-viral infection, stress, anxiety or local strain/trauma.
Watch if there is local tenderness and if present apply rubefacient liniment for warmth and give oral painkillers with anti-inflammatory properties.
Also watch for any tenderness or bulge in muscles in the affected area.
If there is any change in bowel habit then get a
stool test.
Colitis should also be ruled out and if present treated accordingly. Colitis is not usually picked up by CT scan and may then need a
colonoscopy.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
