What Does Pain In The Upper Abdomen On The Right Side Indicate?
right upper quadrant pain radiates to back sometimes. I have no gall bladder. removed 11 years ago. pain is constant burning sensation. pain started yesterday, had pain during the night making it uncomfortable to rest. pain is not worse with eating, but does not subside when eating.

hi sir/mam,right upper quadrant pain has a big list of differential diagnoses like:
1)liver causes:due to stretching of liver capsule as in congestive cardiac failure.hepatomegaly.but in the above cases,other symptoms may also be present like jaundice,pedal edema etc.
2)bowel causes:hepatic flexure diverticulitis,ischemic colitis,atypical presentation of acute appendicitis.
3)kidney:pyelonephritis(other symptoms like fever,difficulty in voiding urine may be present),nephrolithiasis or stones.
4)lung:lobar pneumonia of lower lobe,
5)acute pancreatitis,herpes zoster etc
please do not panic looking at the above list.i have just mentioned the all possible conditions.in all the above causes,other symptoms may also be present.an ultrasound abdomen and pelvis helps us to arrive at a specific diagnosis and facilitates an early management.so,my sincere advise is,if the pain persists or increases in intensity,kindly go for a surgical consultation and have your ultrasound done.hope my explanation satisfies you.other health issues if any,kindly let me know.thank you.take care.bye.
