What Does Pain In The Wrists And Behind The Knees Indicate?

I apologize this is a long one. This last spring my daughter had strep throat diagnosed by a throat swab. A week and a half or so later* I went into the same hospital with a terrrrribly painful throat that nothing would help (it was so swollen the day after I went in that it was making me gag). They did a throat swab and sent me on my way with little bits of advice. The swab showed that I *didn t* have strep. Some 3-4 days later I felt better. For the next week and a half every morning I had pain in my wrists and behind my knees. I didn t feel sick at all and had no idea what was going on. Just a little joint pain. All of a sudden I felt a fever coming on. Next thing I know I m feverish and in a lot of pain. It wasn t a bad fever - 101-102f. I was bed ridden in so much excruciating joint pain that I couldn t even move my arm to grab my phone. I cried my eyes out as my husband looked after our rowdy children downstairs and I couldn t move to do anything or even get help for myself. I thought I was going to have to call an ambulance to get me out of bed!! The next day with ibuprofen and a lot of determination my mother in law helped me get pants on and over to the hospital. They had 0 answers for me. They took no tests or bloodwork. The doctor realized my mother has Lupus and referred me to internal medicine. He prescribed me prednisone. I felt better within a day after starting prednisone. It wasn t until 2 months later that I seen my doctor who got me checked for everything, no markers for autoimmune disease, no signs of inflammation, all my levels were normal by this time. Sometimes this happens after being sick I never hope to experience that again in my life. The internal medicine lady had the same answer. I don t think anybody knew how severe it felt, it wasn t the average fever aches. I had severe pain in every joint, everywhere, any time I moved a fraction of an inch. In your opinion.. was this really just a result of my illness a week and a half prior? Was it possible I had rheumatic fever and there was a mistake with the strep swab? Was it possible it was something else? I m paranoid that it will happen again
