What Does Peristial Reaction In Mid Shaft In Xray Report Suggest?
Hello doctor, I have received the findings of the leg x-ray about my motorcycle accident a few days ago, today and this is the result, A thin layer of peristeal reaction seen along the midshaft of the fibula..the impression is this doctor...peristeal thickening, fibula..what does that mean doc? Do I have fracture??I 44 years of age, 149 cm., 40 kg., and this is the first time I had been into accident. No illness records ever...thank you very much.
Periosteal thickening can be seen in callus formation in a fracture or with slowly growing tumours. It is important to know when you had the accident. There is no clear mention of fracture in your report so it is supposed that the periosteal thickening might be a benign harmless preexisting condition.
