What Does Pulsating Sensation In The Lower Left Quadrant Indicate?

I am having a pulsing/ spasm feeling in my lower left quadrant. I was sick last week, with symptoms of headache, emesis, stomach cramping, and diarrhea. I was in Greece 2 1/2 weeks ago, which I have contributed it too but wonder if it may be a parasite that is causing my colon to spasm.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi.

I am glad we connected.

The symptoms you have mentioned sound like a carcinoid syndrome. Carcinoid usually presents with diarrhea, headaches, cramping, and nausea at times.

Usually, this is diagnosed by checking the serotonin levels in the blood. In some cases, the doctor may also do a endoscopy to identify the location of the tumor. Also, one may notice pulsation in the left lower abdomen when one is very thin.

Seeing a GI specialist would be a good idea as well. I hoep this helps.

All the best.
