What Does Pus Cells 40 And RBC 15 In An Infant Mean?
My baby is 4 months (Female), 5.70 kg. She was on antibiotiMy baby is 4. months (Female), She was on antibiotic treatment as the stool report indicated 25 pus cells and RBC. But after 5 day treatment of antibiotic, we again tested her stool. Now it indicates 40 pus cells and RBC 15 in the stool report. Kindly guide us as to what must have happened to my baby. Hi.... pus cells in the stool routine examination is a normal finding. I as a pediatrician would have never started on any antibiotic for this reason.
I suggest you stop all the antibiotics.
If the reason for you to go to your doctor has been loose stools, I reassure you that this is also a normal phenomena in this age group.
Unless the kid's having low urine output or very dull or excessively sleepy or blood in motion or green bilious vomiting...you need not worry.
