What Does "bilateral Hilar Accentuation, Lobulated Right Hilar Mass' Mean?
Hi my 10yrs old son has had persistent coughing for abt 5months-off and on.we have given some expectorants to no avail.it goes and comes back but not severe cough.we were recommended by a pediatrician for a radiology check.we have had it checked and the result reads thus-there is a bilateral hilar accentuation, right hilar mass is lobulated, left is fuzzy and full, right axillary fullness.?lymphadenopathy??,accessory breast.conclusion bilateral lymphadenopathy & consolidation.what does this condition mean, what is the treatment pls
1.The report suggest there is lobulated mass lesion occupying the hilar region bilaterally. 2.And axillary region fullness both sides - suggestive of lymph nodal enlargement. 3.Lymph nodal enlargement can be seen in any infective / inflammatory cause and lymph nodal pathology itself ( lymphadenopathy) 4.The cough could be due to the obstructive pathology caused by the mass indenting on the main bronchus. 5.Further course will be an FNAC - fine needle aspiration cytology to assess the cells involved and treated accordingly.
Good luck. Hope i have answered your query, any thing to ask ? do not hesitate to ask. http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-ganesh/62888
