Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does "very Purple Positive For Leukocytes And Very Negative For Nitrites" Mean?
Having intense wave-pains above hip bone to the right side of my spine, at worst times waves to other side as well. Does not ease with change-positions or even staying still. I have a history of not displaying typical uti symptoms. I am in enough pain to not want to eat or drink. I took an AZO strip test and both tests came back a very purple positive for leukocytes and very negative for nitrites. Could this be a kidney stone or does this seem more of a bladder problem? I know it is impossible to know without tests, but I have no health insurance right now. I appreciate your response, thank you.
Hi,Welcome to Health care magic forum. As you describe it appears to be the urinary tract infection, or stone in the ureter near the bladder, or may be the muscular pain of the hip. I advise you to consult an urologist for diagnosis and treatment. You may need to have M.R.I. for diagnosis. Other wise the urine examination may reveal the infection or stone in the urinary tract. I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms cifixime, mefenamic acid, dicyclomine for pain relief. Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
