What Does Right Infrahilar Medial Lung Base Increased Bronchovascular Lung Markings Indicate?

my chest xray says right infrahilar medial lung base increased bronchovascular lung markings. These may be idiopathic, chronic disease, bronchitis, etc. clinical correlation and followup as deeped appropriate is recommended. My doctor said I had an infiltrate, but per the chest xray, it says nonspecific increased bronchovascular lung markings in the right infrahilar medial lung base. Is this bronchitis or pneumonia

Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

Accentuated broncho vascular markings in right infrahilar medial lung base may be due to bronchitis, pneumonia, age related changes etc.
You also need clinical correlation. If there is doubt about exact cause then CT Scan of thorax can be done.
It is important to know history of fever, cough.
This is a benign finding and it will go off with treatment.

Hope I have answered your question.
Take Care
