What Does Scattered Small Foci Increased In MRI Mean?
What does it mean when a MRI is done and they say On the flair and T2 there are scattered small foci of increased signal in the supratentorial deep white matter which is non specific and most likely due to chronic small vessel ischemic changes lam 49yrs old and been having fits can u tell me anything please thankyou c.
The MRI scan of brain is showing small areas where at an earlier time there has been deficient blood supply through the small vessels leading to ischemic changes. These are areas of mini strokes and often go unnoticed. It is usually seen in diabetics, hypertensives and those with advancing age. You must consult a neurologist and take necessary stroke prevention medications. Any other conditions that you have need to be taken care of by medications as you are only 49 years old and further changes in the brain must be halted.
