Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does Severe Pain In The Laryngeal Prominence Indicate?
I drank a cup of iced coffee. I walked down the stairs after i finished it. While i was talking to somebody, there was a pop that happened in the adams apple area. The muscles in the area are sore. No unbearable. The pain has stayed the same. Now this is day 3 like this and now i am starting to lose my voice. I can also move the area where it hurts and it will make a pop sound when moving it side to side. Is this something that will go away or do i need to go in to have it fixed?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
I think you should consider using ice and anti-inflammatory to reduce edema. Also it is recommended to visit a doctor to examine you because laryngeal edema is very dangerous and it seems you are experiencing problems since voice changed.
Take care.
Hope my answer was helpful, if you have any other questions I'll be glad to help you.
Best regards,
Dr.Olgeta Xhufka
