What Does Sore Throat With Bumps Suggest?

This happened about 2 weeks ago and lasted about 2 days. It's now happening again. My throat becomes very sore to swallow...not the normal sore throat like strep, but down further...and now a few of the little bumps on my tongue are enlarged (like when you burn on hot liquid). It started with one towards the front of the tongue, now there is also one on the tip of the tongue and one on the underside. They are very tender also.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain recurring sore throat can be due to causes like throat infection that is due to bacterial or viral infection or can also be due to causes like post nasal drip, acid reflux etc..
Bumps over the tongue can be apthous ulcers or canker sores while it can also be due to inflamed tongue papillae that contains taste buds..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like throat swab culture, blood tests, upper G.I endoscopy can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
You can be advised antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkiller and warm saline gargles for infection..
In case of acid reflux pantoprazole, omeprazole and antacids can be advised.

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
