What Does Subtle Nodularity Of Endometrial Lining Of Uterine Cavity Mean?

Hi I did hsg test. Report summary is "subtle nodularity of endometrial lining of the uterine cavity is noted. Otherwise uterine cavity is normal. Capacious but not dilated fallopian tubes bilaterally showing spontaneous free peritoneal spill. Small submucosal fibroids". Can you please tell what it means?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Hysterosalpingography (HSG) is a test wherein a dye is injected through the vaginal route into the uterine cavity.
The dye moves from the uterine cavity into the bilateral fallopian tubes and then into the peritoneal cavity.
If the dye flows in the above mentioned route, the reproductive tract is within normal limits.
In case of obstruction, the dye will not flow freely into the peritoneal cavity rather there will be some kind of filling defect.
Thus, your report tells that the endometrial cavity and fallopian tubes are within normal limits.
The nodularity of the endometrial lining is due to presence of fibroid.
Fibroid is a benign growth arising from the myometrium of the uterus.
They are asymptomatic in majority of cases.
Symptomatic fibroids produce menorrhagia, dysmenorrhea or menstrual irregularities.
Fibroids do not cause much problem.
There is nothing to worry.

Thanks and take care
