What Does The Following FNAC Report Suggest?

Hi There is a report for my wife for FNAC from Thyroid Swelling. Microscopic: Smears prepared from FNAC Thyroid swelling reveals cellular smear consisting of few clusters of folliclar epithelial cells. Background shows extensive infiltrate of lymphocytes. Impression: Auto immune thyroiditis. Please advise what does this means

there is infection in thyroid gland,self generated by the body. it may be some immunity problem of your body.
