What Does The Following Radiology Report Mean?

I received a Final Radiology report and it said. Findings: 2.6 x 2.2 cm right thyroid lesion may be correlated with ultrasound. No hilar or medistinal lymphadenopathy seen. No pleural or pericardial effusion. No pulmonary infiltrate or mass seen. Major airways appear normal. What does this mean?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Age, gender, purpose of doing the test, etc not mentioned. It is suggestive of a thyroid lump or nodule. Based on the radiology report you seem to have a thyroid lump or nodule which is suggestive of a tumor. You are advised to undergo a thyroid ultrasound and may be a fine-needle aspiration to determine if a thyroid nodule is benign or malignant.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
