What Does The Pelvis Ultrasound Report Indicate?

hi dr,

I am female 48 years old. Erratic periods for the last 2 years. No period since 23rd May 2011. I weight 60kg with 160cm height. I had pelvis ultrasound lately. the result shows that the enometruim appears mildy echogenic and has a thicness of 11mm. The uterus is mildy retroverted and enlarged (volunme 186cc). I had fibroids of 2.5cm last november on endo wall but it is not there anymore. Apart from that all is ok with uterus. What does it mean? fibroids inside the uterus wall? or benign tumours inside the womb walls?
thanks

Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

According to USG report, uterus is enlarged in size with normal position.

Earlier you had small fibroid, which is most probably resolved now. There is no mention of fibroid in present report.

Endometrial thickness is mildly increased. You need clinical correlation and biopsy of endometrium can be done after evaluation.
Increased endometrial thickness may be due to both benign and malignant reasons.Biopsy can confirm its nature.

Hope i have answered your query.
Get well soon.

Take Care
