What Does The Urine Analysis Findings While On Periods Suggest?

I am having pressure/pain over my bladder. Went for urinalysis yesterday;however, I am on my monthly cylce. The results were RBC 40-60 and occult blood 3+. Everything else was negative.Do you think that the UTI is not bad enough to have WBC's in urine? I know what a UTi feels like and I am sure this is what I have. What are your thoughts?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
I understand your concern
Blood in urine could be due to the menstrual blood.
So your result could be a false positive.
It is not differentiate the blood from the menstrual period or blood in the urine.
In UTI, there is pus cell, WBC and bacteria will be there.
I would suggest to repeat the urine routine test, culture once your period will over to confirm the diagnosis.
Doctor will give following advises if your report will come positive for the UTI:
Tablet nitrozolium
Tablet pyridium
Syrup cital
Drink plenty of water and juice of cranberry, orange and pineapple
Maintain proper pelvic hygiene.
Wash vagina with warm water 2-3 times per day
Hope this may help you
