hello, I'm 25 years old, i have done an MRI two days ago and here what it says:
the endometrium cavity isnot enlarged, there is a large complex capsulated 9.5x7.5 cm complex left ovarian mass, this mass reveals heterogeous hyper signal intensity with saturation of fat and focal calcifications, similar ill defined complex 6.5 cm right ovarian mass is also seen, no evidence of pelvic lymph nodes. the bladder appears compressed anteriorly, no abnormal bone signal intensity is seen.
conclusion: the findings are highly suggestive of large complex bilateral ovarian teratomas the largest one measures 9.5 cm in diameter for which pathological correlation is recommended.
what does this mean? i'm i going to have my ovaries removed???
welcome to Health care magic. 1.There are bilateral teratomas ( cystic structure containing more than one germ layer ). 2.Seeing the measurement of the cysts it can not be left alone, as it will cause mass effect and complications, difficulty in pregnancies. 3.Mostly treatment of choice is operative removal - laparoscopic surgery is mostly done these days. 4.Ovaris might left - it also depends on the involvement, but in your age surgeon will tent to leave the ovaries / part. 5.No evidence of lymph nodes tells that there is no malignant proceed going on. Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health. Anything to ask ? do not hesitate. Thank you.
