What Does This MRI Report Of Knee Indicate?

I am a 50 y/o active female. I had severe knee pain with pop about 3 weeks ago while excercising. RICE for 4 days, but continued severe throbbing pain medial knee with weight bearing. Knee still swelling. MRI shows full thickness posterior horn meniscal tear, large effusion and medial subchondral fracture with marrow edema. I see MD tomorrow for follow-up after MRI. What should I expect for treatment plan to relieve pain with ambulation?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Dear patient
You have got meniscus tear with chondral fracture. Let me explain in detail. Our knee joint is made of two bones femur up and tibia down. Between this two bones are two ligaments joining and binding them together - cruciate ligaments. Also there are two semilunar shaped discs between articular surfaces - meniscus one medial and one lateral. Also joint surface of bone is covered with smooth layer all over known as cartilage or chondralfracture layer. According to your mri report there is meniscus tear and fracture of chondral layer. This needs to be treated. You need to take visit to expert arthroscopic surgeon for meniscus and cartilage repair which is needed to relieve you of pain and return to normal activities.
