Hello I have been suffering from pain in my upper spine, shoulder, neck and breastbone for some time. My GP sent me for X-rays which showed deterioration in my neck. I have had acupuncture but the pain remains. I also sometimes get fluid filled swellings in different areas the last one was a few weeks ago on my right shoulder they usually only swell for a day or 2 before it goes then the area just feels sore the next day. I hope you can help Kind Regards Veronica

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the issue of pain in upper spine, shoulder and neck indicates possible osteoarthritis of cervical spine with secondary changes of its sequence. My guidelines at present:
- Local application of heating pad, analgesic ointment as diclofenac
- Assisted physiotherapy
- Intake of analgesic with anti inflammatory medications as aceclofenac etoricoxib or others
- Control of blood pressure, body weight

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
