What Does This Pelvic NT Ultrasound Scan During Pregnancy Indicate?

SIR, In 14 week pelvic NT ultra sound scan it is seen that in the report as placenta- posterior lower segment covering the OS ansd the doctor suggested for an injection once in two weeks, what dose it mean? is there any need of rest? is there any risk? please give me an answer

hi,placenta covering the os indicates you have a low lying placenta at the moment and you have a risk for developing placenta previa.but it is nothing to worry apart from some precautions as in most casesabout 90 % placental migration occurs because growth of lower uterine segment is much more than the size of placenta so as a result it moves up.so for precaution patient is prescribed inj proluton depot 500 mg once biweekly.yes bed rest and no intercourse and no heavy weights.take care
