Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter who is 37 had a pelvic ultrasound where they found a solid mass on her ovary. It was under a cent. in size, today 7 weeks later they redid ultrasound and it has grown quite a bit. Her hormone tests have been elevated and periods irregular but other than that no symptoms. What are the chances that this could be benign? Of course worried about it being cancer. The technician said she also has cysts but they are small.
The cysts in ovary need to be monitored. Cysts usually increase in size following hemorrhage. In case the cysts increase in size, surgical removal may be required.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
