What Does This Report Signify:linear To Irregularities Hazed Infiltrates In The Right Upper Lung?

hi doctor, i m nomz of phils,just wanna ask about my chest x-ray result last 2011 and state like this shows linear to irregularities hazed infiltrates in the right upper lung. IMPRESSION(radiologist): ptb minimal. im very worried about the result coz i am aspiring to be a police officer this year. my question is, what does it mean? is this a serious problem? it can cause a scar to my lung? thank you in advance.

Thanks for writing to HCM

Your X-ray showed linear to irregular hazy infiltrates in the right upper lung.It shows infection.It might be due to pneumonia,tuberculosis etc.
Before stamping it as minimal T.B,you need proper clinical examination and investigations.
Investigations include routine hemogram,RBS,LFT,RFT,mantoux test,sputum test(morning sample for three days).PCR can be done for confirmation.
It is not a serious problem.
Scarring depend upon area of lung involved and its severity.
