What Does This Variations In BP Level Indicate For Chest Tightness?
Hi, Within a 5 min. time span I have taken my husbands blood pressure. The readings vary. The 1st was 118/74, 2nd reading 115/66 & heart rate 77 last reading 133/66 & heart rate 75.If anything what can be said about the readings? My husband is NOT on any type of medications other than a buffered aspirin. However tonight is the night to try the in home sleep apnea test.He is 63 and somewhat over weight. tight feeling in the chest. My reading was 109/76 & heart 80. Iam on Bio-identical hormones. No other prescriptions, 61, active and healthy. Any and all inpout is much appreciated. Thank you
Blood pressure varies from moment to moment as does heart rate, so taking measurements in such a short time span doesn't add any additional information to what's going on. The variations are actually pretty close and are at good levels. The chest tightness is a different story. The concern would be heart pain. The current pulse and BP don't help in deciding whether it's heart-related pain. If he is also having symptoms of shortness of breath, nausea, dizziness, palpitations, sweats, etc, along with the chest tightness, or you have any concern at all, then don't take any chances. Call 911 or get to ER immediately. Hope this helps.
