What Does Thyroid Levels With Dry Skin, Fatigue And Obesity Indicate?
A thyroid test reveals:
TSH: 3.72
T4: 11.0
Patient is always tired, falls asleep in dangerous situations, has very dry skin on the hands and has not been able to lose weight for 3 years despite going to the gym 3 times a week and training for the London marathon! What's the diagnosis?
Hi, dear I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Symptoms of dry skin, fatigue and obesity indicate hypothyroidism. But thyroid hormones like TSH and T4 level are normal. It does not match with symptoms.
So either you have some disease other then hypothyroidism or there may be some problems in test reports. So in my opinion you should repeat your TSH and Free T4 level at other laboratory.
If it comes normal then you need to find other cause.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any doubts then feel free to ask me. I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
