What Does Worsening Pain In The Lower Abdomen Before Bowel Movements Indicate?

I have had pain in low abdomen for 3 days, getting somewhat worse. I plan to call my family Dr tomorrow, but do I need to worry about possibility of appendicitis tonight? Pain I rate is about a 2-3 on scale of 10, 10 being greatest. Have not taken pain meds. Other Sx are nil, just worsening pain before normal bowel movements and passing gas, which then subsides.

I understand your concern about the symptom. While appendicitis is a unlikely condition in the setting you have provided it can't be ruled out completely without proper examination and investigations.

To be able to make any kind of educated guess as to your condition, it would be more helpful if you can provide a few details about yourself such as your sex, gender, other conditions if any, about your smoking and drinking habits. As the conditions can vary with different situations.
