Hello,
When thyroid insufficiency is left untreated, the pregnancy may be complicated by miscarriages, preeclampsia, placental abruption, preterm labor or the baby may have growth retardation. A level of 6 is not so high and since your wife is receiving hormone supplementation, there is no reason to worry. Early initiation of treatment reduces the risks. Please have regular monitoring and also get an anomalies scan done. Hope your query has been answered. Take care.
