What Exactly Is A Flare On The Brain For A 29 Weeks Old Child?

What exactly is a flare on the brain? I had twin girls at 29 weeks and was told one of them had a flare (they described it as shining) on the brain we have had another scan 6 weeks later which showed a decrease in size there is no bleeding or water on the brain however I am still worried as I don t fully understand what this is. We had an appointment booked in with the paediatrician to discuss however this has been cancelled until April I can t wait until then. Thanks in advance
