What Foods Should I Avoid After A Small Bowel Resection Surgery?

My husband is home from having surgery to remove a segment of the small intestine that had diverticulum bulging with infection and a hole beside the diverticulum and abscess just outside the small intestine. What foods should we avoid and what foods are especially good for now? The surgery was on tuesday of this past week.
