What Gives Relief To The Swollen Wrist?

I have swollen wrist which at the same time get painful when touched or hit something, this pain comes from the thumb side of the wrist and could be more painful during sleeping. I saw a doctor who said it was inflamation of the tendon and was placed on medication for sometime, no improvement so I stopped seeing doctors now. I just turned 56 years old

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Yes, it seems to be inflammation of the tendon. Apply a hot pack and diclofenac gel, take over the counter painkillers. If you are not getting relief, get yourself an MRI done.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jaideep Gaver, Orthopedic Surgeon
