Home remedies can be considered for minor injuries to ankle joint (first degree sprains)
That helps to relieve your symptoms and promote healing.
But if you aren't sure, consider an evaluation with your dr, in mean time treatment can be initiated from home.
1.Rest ( ankle joint)
2.ice(15 min , 3 to 5 times for 3 to 5 days)
3.compression
4.elevation
5.avoid anytype of tobacco.
6.use diclofinac gel to the sprain
Rest for 48 hours once symptoms start relieving move your affected joint slowly.
Regular exercises can be done to other joints, keep conditioned.
After a week u can use combination of hot and
cold therapy in home and start with mild stretching and range movements.
If u feel ur pain or sweeling is increasing or any numbness
Symptoms do not improve consult your dr for an assessment.
Precautions
1.warm up exercises before play
2.caution on uneven surfaces
3.proper fit comfortable shoe
4.stretching and strengthening exercises to ankle once u come out from pain and swelling.
Consult physical therapist who can teach exercises that strengthen your ankle joint.
