What Infection Causes Bumps In The Back Of The Tongue?

Hi, I noticed some bumps in the back of my tongue that can be described as vallate papillae. I had an upper respiratory infection a while back and I m curious if there s any relationship and if it s something I need to worry about. I have plans to go see my dentist soon

No need to worry. Circumvallate papilla also called vallate papilla are present normally in all individuals on the back of the tongue.
Whenever there is upper respiratory tract infection,they get enlarged and becomes easily visible.After 1-2 weeks of infection it will come back to its normal size.
