PCR stands for polymerised chain reaction- a test used to detect micro organisms like bacteria and virus in our body. It is abnormal means, they might have detected some bacteria infecting the baby, prompting antibiotic therapy to clear the infection. This happens often when there was premature leaking / fever / urine infection in mother and sometimes without an obvious reason. Need not worry, he will get well soon.
