What Is A Protruding Bone In The Left Side Of Rib Cage Suggestive Of?

I ve recently had a lot of issues with a wisdom tooth infection that eventually infected my tonsils too. Then I noticed that the left side of my rib cage seems to almost be separating itself from where it s supposed to be, the right side is flat and normal and my left side sticks out and the bones just don t look or feel right. I ve felt no pain but I know something isn t right, could this be from the infection I have in my mouth? Or is it a completely different issue?

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hello,

As you explain the situation, in my opinion, this is not a problem. It might a normal variant and especially if you have no pain or other signs and symptoms no problem. However, just to be sure talk with your doctor for it to see closely.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jnikolla, Pulmonologist
