What Is Causing Leakage Of Water From My Swollen Feet And Legs After Hospitalization?

I ve been in hospital for 2 weeks have had lots of antibiotics and drips in that time my feet and legs suddenly have swollen up, I m home now still with swollen feet and legs and yesterday they started leaking water. Can you give me any advice what to do. Thank you. XXXX

Hello,

Prolong illness can cause low water-binding substances into patient's blood vessels hence, water can easily ooze out from the vessels. Also, you are on drips as well and prolong bed rest (lying on the bed) can also cause swelling.

All you can do is eat a good protein diet along with good hydration. Do not stay at bed for long. Keep yourself active. during bed rest elevate your affected limbs and keep them clean.
