Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What is causing me to have excessive salivia? I started having problems when I broke a tooth. I also started haivng problems when I started taking birth control for hormones. I have read some report that says it can be caused by serious health conditions like seizures, parkinsons, etc.
Heloo pt- Excessive saliva is usually a temporary problem and rarely a cause for concern but causes of increased saliva production include:
-Pregnancy -New dentures -Inflammation of membranes in the mouth -A side effect of certain medications -Or damage to the nerves that control the salivary glands
You should consult your doctor or dentist if you're very concerned about it.
