What Is Causing My Husband S Severe Knee Pain?

Hi, My husband was diagnosed with cll 7 yrs ago. he is 65 not sure of his weight-approx 250? He also has zap 70 and CD38. He also has Essential Thrombocythemis. He injured his right knee approx. 1 mo ago and is in severe pain most of the time. He went to an orthopedic dr and had an mri done which diagnosis was findings consistent with diffuse leukemic marrow infiltration; no evidece of internal derangement of the right knee. His oncolgist just recently passed away. The new oncologist said he does not believe the report. We want to go for second opinions. Is it possible that he could have CML now?

Hello,

MRI may not be conclusive. You can go for a bone marrow biopsy to confirm whether the leukaemia came back or not.

Further treatment requires tissue diagnosis and bone marrow biopsy is essential to confirm the diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
