What Is Feeling Of Something Stuck In Throat Suggestive Of?

Today I have felt like there s been something stuck in my throat. I had reached in my throat thinging maybe something was lodged in there. When I did, I felt a flap. When I looked in the mirror, if I looked while gagging, I could see it. From what I ve read i think it is my epiglotis. Is this normal or should I be calling my doctor? I m really worried

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As per my clinical experience, the stuck feeling in the throat can be part of congestion via respiratory infection over tonsil, epiglottis or sometimes foreign body lodging as fishbone or else.

Kindly do gargles with salted lukewarm water added peppermint oil 3 times a day and do follow up after 24 hours about the progress or early as per the need.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
