What Is Gastrocnemius Recession Surgery For?

Having surgery and the name is gastrocnemius ression /right fusion. the reason for surgery is diabetic have charkot foot and my foot collapsed.What's description of this surgery. He said something about pins,and plates and the may have to use a bone out of ankle.pls give me more info thank you Judy

dear I understand your concern.your condition charcots foot means the bones in your foot lost there normal architecture and bones .in this condition your doctor planned a series of surgical procedures in which they will carefully rebuild the architecture of your foot in doing so he need to use some pins and plates.for any further clarification get back to me.....regards
