What Is Recommended For Severe Pain In Arms And Weakness After Being In An Accident?

I was in a car accident in September of 2012; resulting in severe whip lash. I received 12 sessions with a chiropractor making the pain somewhat better. I am now experiencing severe pain in my arms (elbow to forearms) and both hands are weak and numb. Does this have anything to do with the car accident? What do you recommend?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I have studied your case. I think you are having cervical spondylitis. In this condition there is pain in neck along with numbness. You need to get tablet Pregabalin m along with physiotherapy. Also avoid keeping neck in same position for a long time. Get MRI of the neck in case there is no relief even after these medications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Naveen Kumar Sharma
