What Is Risk Of Waiting For Natural Labor While Having Hashimoto's Disease?

I am currently 27 weeks pregnant, and was diagnosed with Hashimoto's a week before I found out I was pregnant. My free T4 and TSH have remained within normal limits and I am on a low dose of Synthroid once daily. My OB wants to induce at 37-38 weeks, but I am unsure of the necessity of this. My OB has referred me to an endocrinologist to manage my Synthroid dosage, and is happy as long as my labs stay WNL. What are the risks of waiting for labor to occur spontaneously?

Hello and thank you for asking!
I can understand your concern!
There are no risks as long as the hormones (TSH,FT4 and FT3) are within the normal ranges.
You have to keep monitoring them once a month and adjust the dose according to the results.
You are considered without risk if you keep going like this.
Wish you good health.
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
