What Is The Espogen 4000 Injection Prescribed For?

My wife is a diabatic patient since 15 years and her age is 60 years. Her present status potassium 5.5, creatinine 7.4, heamoglobin 7.5. Doctor recommended espogen 4000 injection twice a week. Iwant to know for what reason the injection is recommended.

espogen 4000 injection is prescribed for anemic patients that is those with are low haemoglobin
espogen is an analogue of an hormone called erythropoietin produced by the kidneys in the body which is necesacry for red blood cells in the body. in your wife's case as the result indicates creatininie content is high which should usually be less than 2, indicating that there some interference with the kidney function, suggesting that it could be one of the reason for the low haemoglobin, i suppose this is why the doctor has prescribed the above said.
