What Is The Alternative For Belara And Ethinyl Estradiol?
Dear Doc, I am a registered midwife nurse, I moved with my girlfriend to London, and she was under OC (Belara, chlormadinone acetate2mg+ethinylestradiol0.03mg) in Italy. We can t find this pill in the UK, and we need to replace it. Could you please suggest me a valid alternative (low content pill) so I can request it in the local pharmacy? Thank you for your help. I found a lot of different pills, but I would like to choose the most similar active principle to the one present in Belara.
General & Family Physician, Dr. Priyanka's Response
Hi,
One alternative to Belara that contains a similar combination of hormones is Yasmin, which contains drospirenone (3mg) and ethinyl estradiol (0.03mg). This pill is widely available in the UK and is considered a low-dose hormonal contraceptive. It's always best to consult with a healthcare provider before starting a new hormonal contraceptive to ensure it's safe and effective for the individual.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
