What Is The Alternative Medication For Adderall XR?

I was put on Adderall 20 mg twice a day over 6 months ago. They worked fine. The doctor I was going to closed his practice. I went and had another test for ADHA and ,yes I do have it. Now, the testing was faxed to a doctor and he does write for Adderall , but only for the XR capsules. I didn t even know they made these .But , I took the prescription to a pharmacy and it cost almost twice as much as the XL, I had been taking. I do not have insurance and am paying cash. The doctor will not put me on my old medication . What am I suppose to do ?

Addiction Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

First, ask why the heck not. There might be a good reason. Then, ask HIM to recommend another physician. How did you wind up with him anyway? Many referrals give choices of doctors.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
