What Is The Best Alternative Medicine For Nitrofurantoin?

My grandaughter has been released from hospital with low white blood cell count, and left with prescription for this drug Nitrofurantoin and my daughter says their cost for it is 175.00 which they dont have. IS there a substitution she can ask Ped for?

Hi,
There are few good urinary tract infection antibiotic medicines are available.
But if urine culture is made and found this antibiotic medicine most effective and so they might have prescribed.
There can be more effective antibiotics in most sensitive list so consult your treating doctor and discuss about this.
