What Is The Best Option For A 5 Year Old With A Sight Of -18?
Sir, my son 5.6 yrs old has been diagonised with high minus power in right eye, -18 while in left eye, -4. Is treatment of such problem is possible ? Net surf indicates, it could be case of amblyopia (lazy eye). Other suggested treatment method are Patching, Contact lenses, drops etc. I would like to know your opinion in this regard. Thanks and regards, B P Gupta
Problem is your son has got anisometropia . one eyy has got pathological myopia. In normal case treatment are correction, contact lens, In amblyopia of low power difference orthoptic treatment with patch could work. In your sons case orthoptic treatment is not possible. his left eye correction should be given the other eye improvement can be tried. But it is of no use for binocular vision
