What Is The Best Treatment For Cough And Cold In 11 Month Old?

HI DR,

MY little one is 11 month, she is suffering From cough ,cold since 31st night , ped prescribed us to give Alspan , altacef , koferst PD & asked us to go for nebulization due to heavy flum. however we are scared to go as this was 1st time. but stll cough is not ok finally i showed to another PED in lake side hospital they asked to give allegra & montair , is is going to be a month now, still baby is not ok. plz advise

Dear User,

You would first have to make sure that there is any need for nebulisation, antibiotics, etc. What impression was offered as to the cause of the cough by both the doctors? If they said "bronchitis" or a "congested chest", the child will benefit from nebulisation, Kofarest PD and so on. Altacef is a very strong antibiotic, and not needed for her at this point of time.
