What Is The Best Way To Cure Swelling Below The Palm Opposite To Thumb?

Not sure specifically how I injured my right wrist, either from over use on a key board, over exercising it or overextending it while stretching but the area opposite my thumb below the palm is swollen and I am unable to put a lot of weight on it. Don't think it's a fracture because there was no traumatic event or fall. What's the best way to increase my healing time? And what do you think I injured. Thank you

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.
From the description which you have given and assuming that there is no history of trauma then the most likely diagnoses could be
1. Ganglion
2. Tendinitis.
The treatment would be pain killers and warm fomentation for both to tide over the acute crisis followed by surgery if it is a ganglion.
