Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
visible bulge when flexed or exerted in lower right leg by outer shin area near where the calf muscle connects, any idea what this could be? No discomfort or discoloration. Although I can feel I slight tightness for a second when flex it from time to time then goes away and unable to repeat the tingle or tightness.
As what I understand with the history you provided it needs more detailed version of the complaint. Your age? Are your diabetic? Are you overweight? etc. Now coming to point, as per my provisional diagnosis this could be a bakers cyst in the popliteal fossa.
This is not going to harm you or your joint in any way. It is one of the body's protective mechanism to protect the knee joint to get damage. There is no as such medicine to it. Trying out exercise on a regular basis for the lower limbs should help improve the strength of the muscles and the cyst can be removed naturally without any kind of other procedure.
In my professional experience I have seen people having cyst and they have done well with the exercises and no signs of the cyst in the future.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
